DAF Youth For Football & Development project

The Dreams Alive Foundation currently delivers Youth For Football & Development projects in Kenya & London, UK (Through Shooting Stars FC).

The scheme is designed to:

  • Engage the youth (aged 11-23) in a range of constructive activities
  • Create routes into education, training and employment.
  • Encourage volunteering within projects and throughout the targeted neighbourhoods.
  • Break down barriers between the police and young people.
  • Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the targeted neighbourhoods.
  • Increase the playing, coaching and officiating opportunities for participants.

The Drams Alive Foundation (YFDP) projects work closely with the Local Authorities, Safer Neighborhood Team, Children Youth Services and Youth Offending Team to establish a daily routine of sporting and educative activities which are designed to gain volunteering and employment opportunities. Exit strategies from the YFDP project include partnerships with European football Clubs.

I would encourage everyone who has the chance to join The YFD(Youth Football Development ) initiative, it has completely transformed my life with soccer and life skills.

Girls Programme

Girls involvement in football is not encouraged in most African communities culture. When girls reach adolescent stage (10-13years), they are expected to concentrate more on performing house chores, coordinating activities in homes and in instances where its an orphaned household, they instantly become caregivers.

This largely contributes to huge number of girls dropping out of school, engaging in child labor to support their siblings, early marriages & pregnancy.

Our girls program uses football as a tool to educate girls hereby changing community views on their role in society.
